Vitaly Zaslavsky began practicing SAMBO at the age of 9, starting a journey that would shape his life on and off the mat.

He is a proud graduate of SAMBO-70, the premier Sambo school in Russia, where he trained under world-renowned masters David Rudman and Andrey Saburov. His participation in this elite program shaped him into both a skilled competitor and a lifelong ambassador of the sport.

A Master of Sport in Sambo, Vitaly’s competitive record speaks for itself. He earned a silver medal at the National Sambo Championship, won the Moscow Open Championship, and captured titles as Champion of the “Trud” and “Burevestnik” Sports Unions.

Today, Vitaly continues to serve the sport as a certified professional and as the President of AASF, contributing his experience and passion to the growth of Sambo in the United States. His dedication to training and competition has made him a respected figure in the SAMBO community, inspiring younger athletes to follow in his footsteps.
